Introduction

Archidply Waterproof Block Board is bonded with a high quality Phenol Formaldehyde Resin pressed at a high temperature and pressure to ensure optimum strength and durability. This glue is much better than urea formaldehyde resin used to make MR grade commercial plywood. It is made from seasoned solid wood cores placed horizontally and is covered with face veneers. The board is seasoned to appropriate moisture content and chemically treated for resistance to wood destroying organisms.
BWR stands for boiling water resistant and is amongst the two grades of waterproof plywood. BWR plywood can also be made in Garjan wood, which is imported. BWR grade plywood is also made from popular Indian species wood. It is used widely for home and office furnishing. It is commonly used in those parts of the house that are likely to be exposed to water. Kitchen cabinets and furnishing and bathroom requirements are sections that involve the use of this waterproof plywood. This is what makes it one of the best-selling plywood in India.
It is not a 100% waterproof and is a lower version of BWP plywood, which stands for Boiling Water Proof plywood. The Indian Standards specification number for BWR grade plywood is IS:303.
